Ivan Vargas Chaves
Ivan Vargas Chaves is a board member representing Colombia at ColorIURIS A.I.E.[1] He received a J.D. degree from the Rosario University's prestigious School of Law [2] and completed his legal studies in the universities of Castilla-La Mancha and Salamanca in Spain. His practice emphasizes intellectual property issues with a focus on ISP liability and copyright infringement. In addition, his business transactions practice includes IT law advice, technology transfer and other complex IP transactions.

Mr. Vargas has been member of the International Chamber of Commerce Subcommittee for Intellectual Property in Colombia and the panel of experts on the Iberoamerican Observatory of Copyright. Even further, in 2011 he serves as expert of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia’s discussion committee for the ISP liability and intellectual property law project. He is also an advisory board member of the Legal Issues Journal of the Rosario University and the Colombian Journal of Tort Law[3]. In addition to those professional memberships, Mr. Vargas was a frequent conferencist on intellectual property matters to a wide variety of professional audiences.

Mr. Vargas has been part of AGEIA DENSI activities in Colombia, Argentina and Spain through ColorIURIS A.I.E. Nowadays AGEIA DENSI the Academic Association for Studies in Law, Economy and Business for the Information Society is one of ICANN's At-Large Structures since 2005.
About AGEIA DENSI and ICANN edit
On December 2006, AGEIA DENSI participated in the establishment of the Latin America Caribbean Regional At-Large Organization (LACRALO) and is one of the At-Large Structures that signed the Memorandum of Understanding with ICANN. Its members are active participants in ICANN activities and some of them hold important positions in LACRALO, ALAC and the GNSO. In addition, some of its members are recipients of various scholarships related to the study of the internet such as the Regional Preparatory Forums of IGF, School of the South Internet Governance and ICANN Fellowship Forum.
