Argentina Proposal

The Argentina Proposal is a document attempting to limit the use of geographic or culturally significant terms as nTLDs to prevent a TLD monopoly on the terms.The Proposal responds to New gTLD Program strings from the 2012, especially .amazon. Governments in South America united to prevent it from being granted to Amazon, Inc. on the grounds that the term has priority significance as a river and geographic area of cultural significance.
