The Universal Postal Union (UPU) was established in 1874 and is headquartered in Berne, Switzerland. It is one of the smallest United Nations specialized agencies, as well as the second oldest international organization in the world. The UPU contains 191 member countries, making it an important forum for cooperation between entities in the postal sector. The UPU sets the rules for international mail exchange and provides recommendations to enhance parcel, financial, and customer services. It seeks to ensure a true universal network for the latest products and services. It is the sponsoring organization for the .post gTLD.

Sessions were dedicated to giving updates on IDNs, Universal Acceptance readiness, progress on the implementation of recommendations from the Second NomCom Organizational Review, Contractual Compliance, and the next stages of ICANN Organization's prioritization efforts.
On February 28, Elliot Silver reported that NameCheap stopped taking payments from Russia for its products and services and allowed no new Russian customers to buy from them; told its existing Russian customers to remove their services from their platform by March 6, 2022; stopped selling Russian and Belarusian TLDs; and blocked Russian IP addresses from accessing the company’s website.
