Judith Duavit Vazquez is the Founder and Chairman of PHCOLO Inc. and a Member of the ICANN Board. She was elected by the Nominating Committee, and began her position following the 2011 Annual Meeting in Dakar, Senegal.[1] She is a member of the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC), the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).[2]

Career History

PHCOLO Inc. is a Philippines telecommunications cross connection site providing colocation and local last-mile infrastructure to leading Carriers and Internet Services Providers on the following four platforms: wireless, cable, ethernet and copper. Vazquez has ICT investments including ownership of telecommunication towers and data centre-grade properties leased to high-value secured-packet data providers. In 1995, she was instrumental in laying the first fiber in the Philippines' Central Business District, and constructed its first 45-storey skyscraper and intelligent building, The Peak.

Vazquez is also a Member of the Board of Directors of national leading media corporation GMA Network, Inc.,[3] the Management Association of the Philippines, and two national foundations, as well as a member of the Clinton Global Initiatives Foundation and the Young Presidents-World Presidents Organization (YPO-WPO).[4]

Education

Judith received a BSc Honors in Economics from the University of the Philippines, and has attended Harvard Business School, the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and the Asian Institute of Management.[5]
