Nic.io is the registry for .io ccTLD for the British Indian Ocean Territories (consisting the Chagos Archipelago which includes Diego Garcia, Peros Banhos, etc.). It was founded in 1997 by its parent company, the Internet Computer Bureau, which provides software, routing and satellite services to domain name registries, government telecommunication authorities, and telecommunication companies worldwide. Paul Kane is the Chairman of the company and its data centers are located in Amsterdam, London, Melbourne, San Francisco, Seattle, Tokyo and Zurich.
