Ali Almeshal is the Director of Strategic Alliance and a Board Member of the Bahrain Internet Society. He has been involved in the group since 2007 and has held a position on the Board since 2010. He has a background in finance and business, and led the IT department of Credimax for 5 years before transferring to its Merchant Department. Within ICANN he is involved in the ALAC; he is also a three-time ICANN Fellow, at ICANN 44 in Prague, ICANN 45 in Toronto, and ICANN 48 in Buenos Aires.
In his career in IT and Finance, he has also worked at the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait. Projects he has led at Credimax include setting up a new joint venture company in Bahrain, Global Payment Services (GPS), which was a third-party processor for card business. He also managed a full migration project from a legacy system to a totally new platform as well as managing and implementing three different e-commerce projects.
He holds a degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Bahrain and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology.
