Arun Panchariya is the Consul General of the Republic of Liberia to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. [1] He is of Indian descent and also started his financial career in the Textile Manufacturing industry of India. Panchariya has over two decades of experience in the global financial market. His professional background is derived largely from his substantial experience in direct equities, commodity trading, investment banking, futures, derivatives and other money market instruments. He is a well-known name in the global market because his business investments and affiliations across a wide range of industries are located in different countries.
Business and Career
Arun Panchariya is the Founder of Global Finance and Capital Limited or GFCL, a corporate advisory firm based in London and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority of the United Kingdom. [2] He is also the Principal Director of Global Capital Advisors Management, a UAE financial advisory firm which, recently, has tied up with the Serbian Government to become the exclusive Financial Management Advisor in their infrastructural projects. This joint venture has given rise to Global Infrastructure Development Company or GIDC in which Arun Panchariya serves as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. [3] In early 2014, Arun Panchariya signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and The West African Development Bank (BOAD), whereby GFCL has been appointed as their exclusive Financial Advisor for infrastructure development projects of more than US$ 18 billion in the UEMOA region. This project was announced and confirmed in the recently held West Africa Investment Forum organized by the three involved organizations. [4]
Awards
The Asia Achiever's Awards awarded the AAA Platinum Business Person of the Year 2010 to Mr. Panchariya in London. [5] In the same year, he was given the Asian Leadership in Banking award by Asian Who's Who International. [6]. Panchariya was also one among the prominent businessmen awarded and recognized in the 2014 Africa International Business Forum [7]
