Asteway Negash is a technology entrepreneur, software engineer and consultant in network and telecommunications with over 10 years of practical experience in software development, system integration and policy development. Asteway is currently a founder and CEO of Enable Et Consulting - a telecom consulting company that is well known in provision of telecom solutions to hundreds of government and private companies. Asteway is well versed with software, hardware and business ecosystem of the telecom sector. He is also active in cybersecurity and policy development around the Doman Name System and Internationalized Domain Names. Asteway holds BSc in Business Administration and Information Systems and currently studying his MSc in Computer Science at AAU[1].
Before he founded Enable Et Consulting PLC, Asteway was a Systems Engineer at Apposit LLC, now acquired by Paga ET, a software company that builds solutions that power high-impact and innovative, technology driven businesses in Africa. Asteway helped build flexible and extensible systems that enable multi-channel communications through Email, SMS and IVR. He also helped build infrastructure that support Cloud based service delivery.
Asteway Negash has been a Linux Trainer and Software Developer at Addis Abada Institute of Technology since November 2010, where he helped launch LPI training and exam center. He has been an opensource software enthusiast, having helped in integration of open source solutions that serve well in university student and grade management. Asteway joined FOSSFA (Free and Open Source Foundation for Africa) in 2010 and has been a member since 2012.[1]
Asteway has wide engagement with ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) as a member of the gNSO Business Constituency. Asteway is also a 3 time ICANN Fellow in the fellowship program at ICANN since 2013[2].
