Products & Services

Domain Registration & Management

INWX provides registration and management services for more than 2,200 top-level domains, including many TLDs with real-time provisioning. Standard features include nameserver management, virtual nameservers, secondary DNS, and an Anycast-based DNS infrastructure for improved availability and performance.

For TLDs with local presence requirements, INWX provides trustee services, allowing customers to register domains in jurisdictions that otherwise require residency.

SSL Certificates

INWX offers a range of SSL certificates, including domain-validated, organization-validated, and extended-validation options. Certificates are available from several established certificate authorities and can be ordered and managed through the customer interface.

Web & E-Mail Hosting

INWX offers web and email hosting with different package sizes that provide varying allocations of storage, subdomains, databases, and email accounts. All hosting services operate on German-based servers.

API

INWX provides an API supporting both XML-RPC and JSON-RPC, enabling full access to the functions available in the web interface. The API can be used with a wide range of programming languages, and official documentation, as well as example implementations, are provided.

Reseller & Key Account

INWX provides dedicated solutions for resellers, including discounted pricing tiers, white-label options, and comprehensive API access for automated domain and DNS management.

For high-volume or strategic clients, INWX offers key account services with individualized support and direct assistance for complex domain portfolios or specialized operational requirements.

Industry Participation

ICANN Registrar Stakeholder Group

Since 2016, INWX has been a member of the ICANN Registrar Stakeholder Group (RrSG), a key part of the ICANN community that represents registrar interests and contributes to policy development across the DNS ecosystem. As part of this engagement, INWX participates in the RrSG DNS Abuse Group and the RrSG Outreach Team.

ICANN Meetings and Industry Events

INWX has participated in every ICANN meetings for many years as part of its continued involvement in the ICANN community. The company also regularly attends international industry conferences and events related to domain registration, Internet governance, and DNS operations.

nic.at Round Table

In 2013, Mario Peschel was elected to the nic.at Round Table Committee for the first time. The committee provides registrar input on operational and policy matters and is elected every three years by the nic.at registrar community.

DENIC Technical Advisory Board & Committee

In 2015, Mario Peschel was appointed to the Technical Advisory Board at DENIC, a body that supports members and customers on technical developments and includes representatives from several member organizations. In 2024, he joined the DENIC Advisory Committee, contributing expertise to the organization’s strategic and operational initiatives.

Registrars.se Membership

In 2024, INWX became a member of Registrars.se, the Swedish industry organization representing .SE registrars in their dialogue with the Internetstiftelsen. Membership enables participation in policy discussions regarding the Swedish domain market. In the same year, Mario Peschel became a member of the organization’s board.

BCIX Advisory Committee

In 2024, Mario Peschel became a member of the BCIX Advisory Committee, supporting the Berlin Commercial Internet Exchange community through industry expertise and engagement.

History

1998—Mario Peschel registers the domain internetworx.de, offering free services such as hosting, email, and subdomains to approximately 150,000 users.

2004—InterNetWORX New Media is founded in Freiburg, Breisgau, in Germany. During this time, the Domain-Robot is developed, forming the technical foundation of INWX and enabling automated and efficient domain registrations.

2005—The company relocates to Berlin and begins operating under the name InterNetworX Ltd. & Co. KG, a location it continues to maintain today.

2005—InterNetworX receives its first registrar accreditations from EURid and nic.at, enabling direct registrations for the .eu and .at extensions.

2006—InterNetworX becomes a cooperative member of DENIC eG, allowing direct registration of .de domains.

2006—The company participates in the development of the .berlin top-level domain as a shareholder of dotBERLIN GmbH & Co. KG.

2007—The company attends its first ICANN meeting in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of its long-term involvement in the global Internet community.

2008—InterNetworX becomes an accredited ICANN registrar, enabling direct registration of generic top-level domains such as .com, .net, .ort, .info and .biz

2015—INWX AG is established in Zurich to provide better support for customers in Switzerland, including services offered in Swiss francs (CHF).

2016—As customers were already familiar with the abbreviation INWX, the company begins operating under the name INWX GmbH & Co. KG.

2020—INWX España (InterNetworX SLU) is founded in Mallorca to enhance support for customers in Spain, with Marc Gelabert appointed as CEO.

2022—INWX achieves direct accreditation for 100 country-code top-level domains, expanding its ccTLD portfolio.

2024—INWX celebrates its 20th anniversary and surpasses 500,000 registered domains.

2025—INWX introduces a renewed brand identity, including a redesigned website and a more modern, dynamic visual appearance.
