KEPSA is an inclusive and proactive body for limited liability membership that provides an institutional framework for Government and private sector partnership. It acts as a facilitator for the private sector in public policy dialogue, as an umbrella policy and networking institution for the private sector and a promoter of public-private sector partnerships in addressing the challenges of wealth and employment creation in Kenya in 2003 .[1]

The main objectives of the company's strategy is the pursuit of an enabling business environment over the next five years by ensuring a year-on-year improvement in three key global business rankings:[2]

  • Ease of Doing Business Index (World Bank)
  • Global Competitiveness Index (World Economic Forum)
  • Bribery Index (Transparency International)

Application forms for joining KEPSA can be found online[4] where members are required to pay a one time membership fee of Ksh.10,000/=.


Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP)

In June 2010 Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) was mandated by the Government of Kenya to implement the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP), which was a 5 year World Bank funded project that came to an end on 29th February 2016, Training and Internship component which aimed at providing the selected youth with relevant work experience and skills through training and work placements in the formal and informal sectors.[5]

The project, which run for a total of six cycles, entailed two months of training and four months of work experience per cycle.

Overall, a total of 20,384 (47% female) youth received training and 13,289 (49% female) youth were successfully placed in internships against the target of 15,000 and 10,000 planned for Training and Internships respectively.
