NIIEPA (National Information Infrastructure Enterprise Promotion Association) was the first non-profit organization to provide research and consultancy services in Internet policy and information security for government research institutions, universities and industries.[1]
NIIEPA was established in 1996 by Dr. Han-Min Hsia, advisor to the President of ROC and it wads officially registered as a non-profit organization. Hsia was elected Chairman of the Board. [2] Ku Wei Wu is the current CEO of NIIEPA.
Purpose[edit | edit source]
NIIEPA was establshed to perform the following objectives:[3]
- Support the government to extensively implement NII applications and services that are on a par with the developed countries.
- Assist the private sector to provide NII services and applications to the public, especially those related to their daily life.
- Strengthen links between the government and the private sector in terms of science and technology visions and policies.
- Collaborate with the government to build a well-rounded environment for the development of the NII industry.

NIEEPA is a member of ICANN's APRALO.[4]
