Hacking Attacks
On December 13, 2020, the US CISA CERT Team released Emergency Directive 21-01 concerning a Supply Chain Attack involving SolarWinds' network monitoring software Orion platform.[1] On April 15, 2021, the U.S. Government attributed this activity to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and imposed economic sanctions against Russian financial institutions, technology companies, and individuals who helped carry out the attacks, which likely began as early as March 2020 through SolarWinds' network monitoring software "Orion Platform."[2]
