Ananya Singh is very active in the IGO ecosystem, as a research intern at UNDP, a Young Leader for Women Deliver, and before that, an intern in the Economics Division of the Competition Commission of India and a NetMission Ambassador. She was the youngest person and the only female NextGen@ICANN participant from India at ICANN 64 in Kobe. She was also a Fellow at APrIGF in Vladivostok in July 2019, and is a member of APrIGF. Ananya is an undergraduate student majoring in Economics with double minors in Geography and Anthropology at the Utkal University, India. She has keen interests in international economics, development economics, and information economics. She is also the topper and the Secretary of the Economics Department. Her writing has appeared in Huffington Post, TUNZA Eco-Generation, and The SPAN, the magazine of the U.S. Embassy in India.

In the News

On December 30, 2021, in a CircleID blog post, Jeff Neuman questioned the practicality of ICANN’s Accountability Mechanisms, called for ICANN's Whistleblower Policy to extend to persons other than employees of ICANN, and accused ICANN of retaliating against DHH for filing an Urgent Reconsideration Request citing ICANN staff's inaction in responding to its Assignment Request for the .hiphop Registry Agreement. ICANN has paused any further consideration of DHH’s Assignment request pending the outcome of the Reconsideration Request by the ICANN Board Accountability Mechanisms Committee (BAMC).
On January 5, 2022, ICANN responded to the .hiphop situation, and the Uniregistry assignments generally.
On January 10, 2022, Monte Cahn, the President of Right of the Dot, founder and former CEO of Moniker, and former President of SnapNames announced his partnership with Neuman and Digital Asset Monetary Network to become the registry operator for .hiphop.
