ICANN 19 took place in Rome, Italy. It was to be the first event of ICANN to be held in the city, and was deemed to have been a massive success from the event organizers. It was also the first ICANN event of 2004, and several topics were covered in the variety of different meetings that had taken place, during the course of the event.
The meetings were free to attend from any interested person, and for persons that could not make the event, a Webcast and remote participation service was set-up to allow for real time commenting and feedback on all issues that were to be on the agenda, during the open forum meetings.
