Several companies submitted their applications to serve as registry operator for the TLD including: [1]

  1. Starting Dot, a start-up registry company based in France that has submitted 5 TLD applications[2][3]
  2. Momentous, submitted 4 total applications[4]
  3. Top Level Design, submitted 10 total applications. The company partnered with CentralNic to provide back-end registry services.
  4. STRAAT Investments, the parent company of .co Internet submitted its applications for 13 domain name strings including .design. The company partnered with Neustar to become its back-end registry service provider. [5]
