An independent examiner is charged with measuring the ICANN body's operational efficacy and accountability to the broader ICANN community. For an in-depth look at the process, check out Interisle Consulting Group's 2017-19 independent review of RSSAC, which advises ICANN on the operation, administration, security, and integrity of the Internet's Root Server System.
