Mariam Martirosyan is the Country Director for the Armenia Office of Project Harmony Inc. She is also a Fellow of the Carnegie Foundation and Eurasia Foundation's Caucasus Resource Centre. Ms. Martirosyan is a Manoukyan Public Service fellow and a member of the Public Board formed by the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Education and Science to monitor the situation of Armenia's special schools for children with disabilities and delinquent behavior.

- The ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 (PP-22), in Bucharest, Romania, started on September 26 and will run through October 14, 2022. This conference is significant for its secretary-general election, which was between two candidates with starkly different views on how to lead the technical body. Of the 193 Member States, 172 voted in a secret ballot and elected Doreen Bogdan-Martin of the United States with 139 votes against Rashid Ismailov's 25. Doreen Bogdan-Martin is a former U.S. Commerce Department expert on telecommunications who joined the ITU in the 1990s. Rashid Ismailov is the former deputy minister for Russia’s telecommunications ministry.
