- On December 21, the ICANN Board accepted Göran Marby’s resignation as ICANN President, effective immediately. The ICANN Board will begin its search for a new CEO in January 2023 and named Sally Costerton, ICANN Senior Advisor to the President and Senior Vice President of Global Stakeholder Engagement, as Interim President and CEO.
- In December 2022, ICANN launched the Coalition for Digital Africa, an initiative to provide investments in Internet infrastructure, offer capacity-building workshops, and facilitate participation in the multistakeholder policymaking process.
