Jennifer Gore is an industry veteran with over twenty-five years of information technology experience. She is one of the most historically involved females in the domain name and hosting industry and has participated in 65+ ICANN meetings over the course of the past two decades. Her prior work includes over 25 years of experience in Internet matters, primarily in the domain name registration and management arena. Currently, Ms. Gore is the Data Application Manager in the Data Privacy Department at Facebook.

Career History

Gore offers nearly 25 years of experience in the Internet domain name service and hosting industry. She was the subject matter expert in data governance and privacy for Winterfeldt IP Group from October 2018 to February 2020. She served in various senior management roles at ICANN, where she was responsible for over 2500 ICANN-accredited Domain Name Service Providers (i.e., registrars) ensuring internet policy implementation, contractual compliance, and industry engagement from July 2016 to October 2018. Gore also served as the Senior Director of Policy for Web.com, one of the world’s largest providers of Internet domain name registrar's services. In a prior role, Gore was responsible for the development of the first commercial hosting solutions provided by Network Solutions, which was the original manager of the .com and .net registries. When Network Solutions was acquired by Verisign, Gore continued on through the acquisition and managed the Verisign Naming Services Channel Partners, which represented over 90% of worldwide registered gTLD domains. She has also been a principal general manager of the corporate brand domain management business within Verisign. Other experience in the IT industry includes senior management positions at UUNET, Nextel, MCI, and Level 3 Communications.

ICANN Involvement

As a long-time member of the ICANN community, Gore has been involved in a number of supporting groups and constituencies and has served as the Vice-chair of the Registrar Stakeholder Group and as a member of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council, the body that creates domain name policy for the Internet.

In her role at Winterfeldt IP Group, Gore managed client support and industry engagement in connection with Internet policy matters. She assisted with identifying and tracking the key policy matters of interest to their clients and ensuring that their needs were represented in Public Comment, ICANN Working Groups, and other industry avenues. In addition, Gore coordinated the activities of GBOC, the global brand owner and consumer protection advocacy coalition, and contributed to Winterfeldt IP Group’s marketing and client relations efforts in the online brand protection arena.

Generic Names Supporting Organization. Develops and recommends to the Board substantive policies relating to generic top-level domains and other responsibilities set forth in the Bylaws (ICANN Bylaws).
