OASIS is the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards, a nonprofit consortium that encourages the development, convergence, and adoption of open standards for Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), emergency management, Cloud Computing, legal data exchange, energy, and content technologies.
OASIS was originally called “SGML Open." Founded in 1993, it was a consortium of vendors and users focused on developing guidelines for interoperability among products supporting the Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML). In 1998, the organization's name was changed to OASIS.
