Peter Koch works for DENIC, the ccTLD registry for DE, as a policy advisor. His interests are Internet Governance, security, standardization, and cross-community interaction. He is also active in RIPE, CENTR, and the IETF. Peter is a former member of the Board of DNS-OARC.

ICANN Involvement[edit | edit source]

Peter was a member of RSSAC from 2011-2014 as the IETF liaison. The ccNSO has appointed Peter as their representative on RZERC and the Root Server System Governance Working Group RSSGWG. In 2020 and 2021, Peter was appointed to the Nominating Committee by the IETF.

Within the ccNSO, Peter chaired the Study Group on the use of Emoji’s at the second level in ccTLDs.

Peter was a member of the First IANA Function Review Team (2019-2021) and has been serving as the ccNSO appointed co-chair of the Second IANA Function Review Team since ICANN78 (Hamburg).

With the end of ICANN79 (Puerto Rico), Peter became a member of the ccNSO Council.

Involvement in Internet Governance[edit | edit source]

Peter is a member of the Board of the Internet Society German Chapter (ISOC.DE).

Since 2016, Peter serves as a member of the faculty for the European Summer School on Internet Governance Euro-SSIG in Meißen, Germany.

He is also a regular participant at the global IGF and heads the Secretariat of IGF-D, the NRI for Germany.
