Brian J. Winterfeldt, the Founder, and Principal of Winterfeldt IP Group[1] which is a specialized law firm focused on intellectual property issues based in Washington D.C. The firm consists of 7 lawyers and several other IP professionals with decades of collective experience across both analog and digital platforms, including all areas of trademark portfolio counseling and management, brand-related Internet presence, and IP policy matters including ICANN, the new generic top-level domain (gTLD) program, and registry/registrar matters. 

He is a former president of the IPC.

Brian has a proven track record with significant work in Internet governance and new media counseling and enforcement, including assisting clients with the management of their domain name portfolios and securing domain names that incorporate clients' trademarks through the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy and other similar processes for foreign domain names. [2]. He has also counseled clients on cutting edge issues such as data governance, social media, including strategies for brand promotion and protection in these spaces.[3]

Brian Winterfeldt has a B.A. in Art History from Emory University, an M.A. in Latin American Studies, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. He has written a number of articles on trademark law and has been selected for the past several years to serve as a reviewer for the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition by the International Trademark Association. Mr. Winterfeldt is a prominent and frequent speaker at industry events on topics including trademark issues and social media.[4] In addition to being the current President of ICANN’s Intellectual Property Constituency, he is a member of the USPTO’s Trademark Public Advisory Committee[5], a panelist with the World Intellectual Property Organization for the UDRP[6], and a member of the International Trademark Association’s Anti-Counterfeiting Committee[7].
