Iago Capistrano is a Brazilian lawyer and consultant specializing in Legal Innovation & Technology, and Internet Governance. He has worked with startups, technology companies, public and private traditional institutions to develop innovative legal solutions. As a Community Ambassador for ICANNWiki, he actively promotes engagement and knowledge dissemination in the ICANN and Internet Governance ecosystem in general. He also has experience in Judicial Innovation, having worked as a Legal Innovation Consultant at the Court of Justice of the State of Ceará (TJCE) and as a Legal Innovation Agent at Íris Lab Gov, the Innovation and Data Laboratory of the Government of Ceará.

Iago is the Coordinator of Innovation & Technology and the Data Protection Officer at APSV Law Firm, where he focuses on Contract Law, Privacy & Data Protection, Legal Design & Plain Language, and legal technologies, among other areas.

In the public sector, he worked as a Legal Innovation Consultant at the Court of Justice of the State of Ceará (TJCE), where he was involved in projects to modernize the judicial system through the application of Legal Design, Plain Language, and Visual Law. Previously, he was a Legal Innovation Agent at Íris | Innovation and Data Laboratory of the Government of Ceará, contributing to data-driven public policies and digital transformation initiatives.

Additionally, he was co-founder of the Privacy & Data Protection Thematic Area of GETIS (Technology, Information, and Society Research Group), where he previously served as coordinator.

His academic background includes a Law degree from the University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR) and a postgraduate degree in Digital Law and Data Protection from the Brazilian School of Law (EBRADI). Additionally, he completed a graduate program in Internet Governance and Regulation at Universidad de Mendoza, Argentina.
