Pascal Bekono is a Cameroonian computer and telecommunications engineer, Internet governance specialist, and consultant in ICT and data governance. He has worked in ICT policy, IT regulation, and organizational frameworks, with over 13 years of experience at the Ministry of Justice of Cameroon. His career includes multiple awards and fellowships from institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, the Commonwealth, La Francophonie, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). He has also undertaken venture capital training with Laconia Venture.

In 2024, Bekono was elected as the Non-Commercial Users Constituency (NCUC) delegate to the ICANN Nominating Committee (NomCom), where he gained insight into leadership role requirements within the organization. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Non-Commercial Stakeholder Group (NCSG) Financial Committee and is active in NCSG policy development.

Bekono began his international engagement in 2005 as the Cameroonian youth country coordinator for the World Summit on the Information Society, in partnership with TakingITGlobal and the Government of Canada. He has represented La Francophonie at the Global Forum on Youth and ICT for Development, organized by the United Nations and the ITU in Geneva (2007), and has participated in events including the World Youth Congress (Quebec), the Japan Youth Forum for Development (Tokyo, 2008), and the 3rd International ICT for Development conference (Doha, 2009).[1] He is an alumnus of the DiploFoundation Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme (2008) and a former fellow of the European Summer School on Internet Governance.[2] Bekono has regularly attended and contributed to the Internet Governance Forum, including the 2007–2009 editions.[3]

Bekono has participated in several ICANN Fellowship cohorts, including ICANN 45 (Toronto) and ICANN 49 (Singapore),[4] as well as meetings in San José, Johannesburg, and Panama.

He is currently an IT consultant at DSTC International and has collaborated with organizations such as the German Technical Cooperation in Cameroon and international NGOs working on poverty reduction strategies, the Millennium Development Goals, ICT for development, and fair trade.[5]
