Tim Switzer currently works at Public Interest Registry (PIR) as the Vice President of Business Affairs, responsible for global growth via channel and product partnerships. Tim has been at PIR since October 2023.
Prior to PIR, Tim worked for 7 1/2 years as Director, Strategic Partnerships at Verisign, where he worked with multiple channel partners to help them grow their business via .COM and .NET.
He was formerly the Head of Operations for .BUILD (Minardos Group), a company that was the sole applicant for the .build string.[1]
Prior to .BUILD, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at DotGreen Community.[2] While there, he was responsible for all business operations of DotGreen, and was particularly focused on preparing for the TLD launch, while working on growth opportunities and channel distribution for Dot Green.[3]
He was formerly involved in ICANN through his work with Neustar, and has continued to participate actively at ICANN. He is currently a member of the Registry Constituency via Verisign. He was a former member of the New TLD Applicant Group (NTAG) and was elected to serve as part of the original EXCOM, initially as Treasurer and later as Chair of the NTAG.[4]
Career History[edit | edit source]
Before joining VeriSign, BUILD and DotGreen, Mr. Switzer worked at NeuStar for 10 years in different positions including VP of Integration, VP of Registry Services and VP of Business Operations. In 2001, he joined Neustar as CFO and VP Customer Operations for the Registry business. When he left Neustar in September 2011, he was heading up the Neustar Registry Services Team. [5]
Tim Switzer also worked at IBM for 15 years starting in 1980. At IBM, he progressed thru a series of finance and business operations management roles in Field Operations and assignments in both US and Corporate HQ. After Tim left Neustar, he joined Visa Interactive, a subsidiary of Visa, in 1995 as the CFO and VP of Business Operations focused on the electronic banking business.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from James Madison University.
Fun Fact[edit | edit source]
Tim lives to exercise and stay fit; he has run 3 marathons and 9 1/2 marathons. He has finished 5 different 100+ mile bike rides. He has also taken bike riding trips in Europe with his wife Janie. [6]
