ICANN 41 - Singapore was hosted between 19 and 24 June 2011 by iDA at the Raffles City Convention Centre. ICANN 41 marked the departure of Peter Dengate Thrush from ICANN. He was influential in establishing what would become the ccNSO.[1] Also, at ICANN 41, NPOC was approved by the ICANN Board. The purpose of the NPOC is to represent operational concerns related to service delivery of not-for-profit and non-governmental organizations that are domain registrants in the DNS.[2] The ICANN Board also approved the New gTLD Program at ICANN 41, after many years of discussion, debate, and deliberation with the Internet community, business groups, and governments.
