He was elected to [[ARIN]]'s board of trustees in 2004 and reelected in 2007 and 2010. Paul was elected chairman in 2009 and 2010.     The Technical Liaison Group (TLG) is a group within ICANN whose purpose is to provide the ICANN Board with appropriate sources of technical advice on specific matters related to ICANN's activities. The TLG acts in both responsive and watchdog capacities. It provides information at the request of the ICANN Board and other ICANN bodies and yields ongoing information about the progress of relevant technical developments that may affect the Board's decision-making process.
