Allan Fret is a Senior Associate Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase and is pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Computing Systems at Georgia Institute of Technology. He comes from Dorado, Puerto Rico. He studied at the University of Puerto Rico - Bayamon, securing a degree in Computer Science. He learned about ICANN through his involvement with the Internet Society Puerto Rico Chapter. He's interested in learning more about how Internet policymaking works so he can contribute to the future of the Internet. He feels that his participation in ICANN61 with the NextGen@ICANN program enhanced his leadership skills.
- Online and in-person registration for RIPE 85 is now open. The conference will take place in Belgrade, Serbia from October 25 through 28.
- NARALO will hold a General Assembly during ARIN50 from 20–21 October 2022 in Hollywood, California.
- Registration for ICANN 75 Annual General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is open! ICANN 75 will be a hybrid event from 17–22 September 2022.
- The joint APNIC54 and APrIGF2022 conference will be held virtually and in-person 8–15 September at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
- NamesCon is happening from August 31 to September 3, 2022, in Austin, TX.
- On August 11, the 2022 Nominating Committee announced its selections for:
- the ICANN Board (Maarten Botterman, Christopher Chapman, Sajidur Rahman);
- the Public Technical Identifiers Board of Directors (Tobias Sattler);
- the At-Large Advisory Committee (Eduardo Díaz, Tommi Karttaavi);
- the Country Code Names Supporting Organization Council (Olga Cavalli); and
- the Generic Names Supporting Organization Council (Anne Aikman-Scalese).
- Those selected will begin their terms at the conclusion of ICANN 75.
